Just A Farm Girl
Hi ... I'm just a farmgirl
who's a Northern Canuckie
that loves to say the word
"eh" a lot!
The "Internet"
what an amazing place ...
I've visited a lot of places online
with my Online name, "Yahooligans".
My first place was Pogoland ... lol
then off I roamed into cyberspace
in search of beautiful poems.
But you know what
the best part of being Online
is all the wonderful "friends"
I made along the way.
It didn't take long
to become "fancy free" with
the "wonders" of cyber space.
The things I've learned along the way
the things I never thought possible
for a Farm Girl like me.
Never in a million years
did I ever thought I could
create something like this
... my very own website.
I want to dedicate it to
my father who is my bestfriend
and in
precious memories of
my grandparents
Roy and Lila Hopkins
I never really realized
just how much a person can inspire us
till one night years ago
after sitting with my Grandfather
he shared some pretty lonely tears with me
giving my heart a reason
to write my very first poem ever.
"Once Busy Hands Lies Still"
was the beginning of many poems
till one day
the words stopped flowing from my heart
and I never wrote another poem since then.
For years I kept these poems hidden
only sharing with a few people
here and there along the way.
I never thought I would ever find a way
to display them in the way
they were written
till now.
For over two years
I've read many poems from beautiful sites online
and always wanted to reveal
the "poems" my heart once wrote
in the same such manner
as those beautiful poems online are revealed.
This all became possible for me
from someone believing in me
encouraging me
I owe so much to this "one person"
my "Special" Online Friend
my forever famous critic.
So many years I went
without writing another poem
till I found a dear friend
who lit that candle of inspiration in me
... the inspiration to create again
so now ...
I don't reach for my "paper and pen"
instead ...
I pull out my keyboard
and let my fingers convey
the feelings of my heart.
So thank you Grandpa
from up above for that inspiration
thank you Grandma
from up above for being such a wonderful role model
and thank you, dad,
for being here for me.
Thank you so much, My Friend
for giving it all back to me.
I believe ....
everyone should grow up
with grandparents next door to them!
So, go ahead and check out what
"Yahoo" has been up to lately
and I really hope you enjoy
your visit to my very first website
and if you get a chance sign my Guest Book
and let this farmgirl know what you think!!!
Happy Reading ...
Donna
