Home Grown Country Band
Home Grown Country Was Our Name
Bar

Memories of home still linger in my heart,
Four seasons, many reasons
where my life first got its start.
Oh those happy times of my younger days,
will never be forgotten.
But certain happy times still stand out in my heart,
and really make me smile.
Four men, guitars and pickup trucks.
Made my life a happy mile.

My old flatbed Ford,
name painted on a piece of wood
attached to the back.
Holes in the floor, dang it use to rock.
The many nights of laughter,
the tricks we use to play.
Our little home town band,
Home Grown Country was our name.

We all grew up in the same small town,
Mike, Tim , Brent and Stew,
and being the only girl, they liked to pick on too.
But it was all in fun,
and fun we surely had.
Sometimes not seeing them good ol boys,
really makes me sad.

We played them little home town bars,
people came from all around.
Not much equipment we first had,
but everyone still loved the sound.
We'd sing our old time songs,
Aaron Tippen, Garth Brooks and Patsy Cline,
and even our own works a little at a time.

When we were on that stage,
not a moment we felt blue.
The stage was our little world.
Where the bad times were forgotten too.
Hurts, pains, divorces, we all went through,
But we all had each other,
and our friendship was so true.

boots

We played the Hopkins Family Reunion,
The Fun Dayz in Porquis too.
In the cold and rain we would be there,
With our songs from us to you.

Home Grown Country was our name,
Till death do us part will it stay.
Mike, Tim, Brent and Stew,
I hope to see you all again one day.
We have all moved on in life,
Each other we don't often see.
But I hold you in my heart,
A part of Home Grown Country I will always be.

boots

Dedicated to the members of the Home Grown Country bad.
