The things I hope for in the life
of my unborn grandchild ...
I hope you learn respect at a very young age
and hold it throughout your lifetime.
I hope you never take gifts for granted
and learn to give as well as to receive.
I hope you learn on your own
how important it is to roll up your sleeves
and help without being asked.
I hope you learn that money
does not buy you friendship nor love
it's what's in your heart
that gives you all of that and much more.
I hope you get your feelings hurt just once
to know how it feels
so you may never do it to someone else.
I hope you learn at a very young age
to love yourself
as this is the key to loving others.
I hope if you find life unfair
that you have the courage to look deep within
and make the changes needed
and not blame others.
I hope if you see someone different from you
that you have the compassion
to never make fun.
I hope you learn at a young age
that elderly people are to be respected
and not mocked for their slowness
for someday you will wear those same shoes.
I hope you learn early
that life is made up of lessons,
and that no lesson is ever over
till you've learned it.
I hope you learn that life is not a free ride
each of us are here for a purpose
and we must look within ourselves
to know what that purpose is.
I hope you learn to be
open to change
for life can never remain the same.
I hope those who love you
will give you the best in them
so you can someday
give the best of them and yourself
to another child.
I love you my unborn grandchild
and I promise
I'll do my best by you ...
So Much Love, Nanny
