So much smog and so much noise,
Buildings and vehicles everywhere you go.
It's the life that is known by my boys,
It's the urban way of life you know.
At times I find it so hard to live this life.
The hustle and bustle and everyone on the go,
I wish that I could leave this strife,
To the wide open prairie is where I want to go.
To go for a walk and not one motor do you hear,
But the songs of birds and cries of coyotes are in the air.
Where the wilderness is so peaceful and dear,
And the sunsets are way beyond compare.
All the wildflowers paint a beautiful picture,
And the smell of the fresh crisp air.
The herd of cattle grazing in the pasture;
And my heart aches and I long to be there.
If only I could go for one more stole,
Through the land that I love so dear.
Before time takes it's inevitable tole,
And I am forever gone from here.
