This ole tree
of you and I
of him and her
Is a mixture
of generations
of many seasons
As it's written in the great book
for every thing there is a season
and a purpose under the heavens
~ the precious season of time ~
A time
in which
you and I
became life ...
A time
when you and I
will someday die ...
A time
that we needed to mourn
to heal ...
to rebuild ...
And on this special day
He has given us this
precious time ...
a Time To Dance
The dance of celebration
for the life of
this ole tree
When I go through
the pages of
this family
I see so many
life spans ...
and it makes me wonder
Who planted
that first seed
of life?
One thing
I did find
within the
coloured pages
Is the commitment
this ole tree holds
on dedication ...
The dedication
which to my knowledge
began over 189 years ago
in the homeland of Ireland
It was there
that a woman and man
spoke the vows of love
And through this act of love
they produced the needed seed
It's the seed
that withholds
this ole tree
from ever dying
In this seed of nurture
how much within us truly
belongs to the yesteryear
It makes me wonder ...
as if through the spirits and souls
of our mighty roots
that has guided us
to this celebration
The celebration of life
for the ole tree
of you and I.
